March 12 - Selfishness

Word for today is Selfishness, one of my character defects to be sure. It has not magically disappeared despite my working the twelve steps. In Step Seven, I humbly asked the God of my understanding to remove my shortcomings such as He could or would under the conditions of the day I asked. So, on some days I am selfish, just as on other days it is dishonesty that I struggle with. Or fear. Or anger. Each day is different and at the end of each day, when I do my inventory, I merely make note of my difficulties for that day and strive to do better the following day.
